Simple & Sweet Valentine's Day Ideas
On a piece of elegant stationary, write a letter expressing your appreciation and love for your Sweetheart this year. The personal touch of sending an old fashioned, hand-written letter is much more romantic than sending one via email or text. For sweet-smelling stationary, you can spritz a bit of perfume on the paper before placing it in an envelope.
Surprise your Sweetheart with a homemade dessert using a heart-shaped mold, like a chocolate cake in the shape of a heart with strawberries (sliced and shaped like hearts) placed on top. Does it get any better than chocolate and strawberries?
Watch a romantic old movie. Some of our favorite choices for Valentine's Day include: Sabrina (1954) starring Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, Roman Holiday (1953) starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, Gigi (1958) starring Leslie Caron and Louis Jourdan, and Magnificent Obsession (1954) starring Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman.
Say "I Love You". These are three of the most important words a person can ever say...or hear. Don't just assume that your Sweetheart knows that you love them. Tell them so.
Forget going out to an expensive restaurant. Plan to spend the evening at home. Spend time together in the kitchen, preparing a meal and sharing some laughs. Spaghetti is an easy dish to make. Pizza is also a good choice. Listen to romantic jazz instrumentals while enjoying your candlelight dinner. Sweet!
